Patricia Lovett in ConversationPatricia Lovett MBE in Conversation – 25 January 2022, 7pm

Join the Heritage Crafts in conversation with Patricia Lovett MBE, world-renowned scribe and illuminator specialising in the traditional tools and techniques of mediaeval practitioners in a contemporary way. Patricia has written over a dozen books on the subjects with the most recent being The Art and History of Calligraphy published by the British Library, and has taught and lectured all over the world. Patricia created the Fitzwilliam Collection of Contemporary Calligraphy and ‘Calligraphy Today’ exhibition with Dr Stella Panayotova, and worked with the British Library on their ‘Genius of Illumination’ and ‘Anglo-Saxon Kingdoms’ exhibitions . Patricia is Chair of Heritage Crafts having been the founder Vice-Chair. She received the MBE for services to calligraphy and heritage crafts.

Helen Welch in ConversationHelen Welch in Conversation – 7 February 2022, 7pm

Join Heritage Crafts in conversation with Helen Welch, woodworker. Helen’s 36 years in woodworking have included construction, furniture making, guitar making and forestry. She founded the London School of Furniture Making in 2013 to address the needs of amateur furniture makers and anyone else wanting to learn how to make their own furniture without having to commit to a long course at a college or university. In 2021 she attracted a legion of new fans after appearing as judge on Channel 4’s Handmade: Britain’s Best Woodworker.
