Whitchurch Silk Mill are recruiting a trainee weaver. This hands-on role involves operating and maintaining historic silk weaving machinery, producing high-quality cloth, and helping to deliver an exceptional visitor experience. You’ll also support guided tours, daily operations, events, and administrative tasks.

They are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys sharing heritage stories, and is committed to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for all.

Key responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain traditional weaving machinery
• Produce and finish silk products to a high standard
• Deliver engaging tours and share the Mill’s history with visitors
• Help open and prepare the Mill each day
• Support events, shows, and daily operations
• Assist with admin and health & safety procedures
• Work flexibly as part of a small, dedicated team
