The Orkney Furniture Maker is seeking an extra pair of hands to help out in their workshop and gallery. The position of Craft Hand/Furniture Finisher is ideal for someone looking for part time work with flexibility. Initially this would be for two days per week but additional hours may be possible for the right candidate.

The Orkney Furniture Maker undertakes a wide variety of work from traditional to more contemporary pieces, designing and create for private clients, galleries and interior designers as well as making items to sell in their own Kirkwall based gallery.

You will be required to work as part of a small team and independently on a wide variety of projects, from assisting the wood workers with making and finishing furniture, to packing furniture to keep it safe during delivery.

Attention to detail and being able to work to a very high standard is essential for this position. Previous making experience is desirable but training will be provided for the right candidate.
