Trainee Laster – Pointe Shoes

The Suffolk Pointe Shoe Company are recruiting for a trainee pointe shoe laster. With full hands-on training, you will work towards producing 230 pairs of handmade pointe shoes each week, learning and mastering every stage of the process.

Responsibilities include: 

• Learning each step of the lasting process with guidance and feedback.
• Standing at your own workstation making ‘outer shoes’.
• Using hand tools such as hammers, scissors, pliers, and knives.
• Working with nails, twine, and shoe lasts (foot forms).
• Reading and following order tickets accurately.
• Meeting quality and production targets in a fast-paced team environment.

Requirements: 

• Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
• Excellent manual/practical skills.
• Strong organisational ability.
• Proactive and enthusiastic attitude.
• Willingness to learn and develop.
• Reliable attendance and a solid work ethic.

This is a full time, permanent position, at 39 hours per week.
