Laithes Ltd are a well-established family run soft furnishings manufacturer based in Summerbridge, specialising in high-quality bespoke curtains, blinds, cushions and interior textile products. They work with interior designers, retail outlets and private clients, taking pride in their craftsmanship, attention to detail and beautifully finished products.

They are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Trainee Seamstress/Apprentice to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is interested in developing practical sewing skills within a professional workroom environment. You will work alongside experienced machinists and makers, learning all aspects of soft furnishings production from start to finish.

Key responsibilities:

• Assisting in the making of curtains, blinds, cushions and other soft furnishings
• Learning to operate industrial sewing machines safely and effectively
• Measuring, cutting and preparing fabrics
• Hand sewing and finishing details to a high standard
• Supporting with quality control and final inspections
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe workspace

Requirements:

• A genuine interest in sewing, textiles or interiors
• Basic sewing skills are desirable but not essential – full training will be provided
• Good attention to detail and pride in your work
• Willingness to learn and take instruction
• Reliable, punctual and hardworking
• A positive attitude and good team spirit
