The apprentice will support the Military Department team in fulfilling customer orders, alongside learning the key skills required to become a competent Savile Row standard Finisher specialising in Military finishing.

The role is mainly military uniform based (with an emphasis on Naval uniforms) from medal mounting, sleeve and shoulder ranking, sewing on badges and basic alterations, but also bespoke garment finishing such as handsewn buttonholes, felling, prick stitching, hand rolled pockets squares, frogging and small repairs.

There will be opportunity to learn the customer facing side of the department if that is something the candidate is interested in. There will be times when customer facing help is required for certain Royal Household related duties.

Requirements:

• An interest in tailoring (essential)
• Basic hand sewing skills (preferable)
• Basic machine skills (preferable)
• An interest in uniforms (preferable)
