Details
Elizabeth Wallace Bridal are recruiting a Textile Heritage Apprentice. You will play a vital role in the care and preservation of wedding gowns while learning about fabrics and their qualities. You will also learn how to clean and press dresses, as well as learn how to sew using both hand-sewing and machines. This position is hands-on, detail-focused, and integral to the smooth operation of their services. No prior experience in garment care is necessary – full training is provided in partnership with Glasgow Clyde College. All training will be in-house with us at their Kilmarnock premises.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect wedding dresses for stains, damage, or needed repairs.
- Prepare gowns for cleaning by reading care labels and assessing fabric types.
- Clean delicate garments using specialist techniques (full training provided).
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow.
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace.

- Experience in sewing and alterations is also welcomed.
