Deadline: 30 June 2026
Cox London is an art-forward studio crafting furniture, lighting and objects driven by a shared reverence for beauty and nature. By nurturing creativity, fostering curiosity and cultivating empathy, they seek to inspire a future where artistry enriches lives, always pushing the confines of what’s perceived to be possible further and further.
These two apprenticeships are three-year, full-time placements where you earn as you learn. In your foundation year, you will get a 360-degree view of Cox London and Guild Bespoke Metalworks, with hands-on training from warehouse and production to commercial sales and finance, alongside learning ancient crafts. You will also benefit from a Level 3 Diploma in Craft Skills for Creative Industries, awarded by City & Guilds.
At the end of the first year, you will be assessed in specialist areas (Fabrication, Foundry, Patination and Wiring) and choose one area to specialise in during years two and three. Combining on-the-job, hands-on training (4 days/week) with studying (1 day/week), you will engage with mentors, managers, and a close-knit community daily, who will support your journey and provide the guidance and insight you need to thrive.
- Age requirement: Must be 18 years or older due to health, safety and insurance requirements. We will accept applications from you if you are 17, as long as you turn 18 before the apprenticeship employment start date.
- Education: GCSEs (or equivalent) in Art, Design Technology, English and Maths are preferred but not essential, or equivalent practical ability.
- Experience level: Entry-level position; no prior experience with tools or metal manipulation is required. We are looking for motivated individuals with a willingness to learn and an interest in developing hands-on making skills.
- Suitability: No university degree is required. This programme is designed for people who want to start their career through an apprenticeship and leads to a Level 3 Diploma awarded by City & Guilds.
- Skills: Willingness to learn and adapt to traditional craft techniques and processes.
- Physical ability: Capable of performing manual tasks and handling tools safely, with reasonable adjustments where applicable.
