Based in the historic saddlery hub of Walsall, Bliss of London Ltd manufactures of high-end, custom-made equestrian saddles and accessories. Founded in 2011, the company has quickly established a reputation for blending traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design, producing bespoke saddles for dressage, showjumping and eventing. Each piece is handmade and hand-finished, utilising traditional wooden spring trees and 100% wool-flocked panels to ensure an exacting fit for both horse and rider.

Bliss of London are looking for a practical, hands-on person to join its team. Initially, this role will focus on learning traditional leather cutting alongside experienced cutters. As they introduce new digital cutting equipment, the role will develop into operating and helping manage their CNC cutting process. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to build a long-term skillset combining craft and modern manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Learning to assess and cut leather by hand
• Selecting and preparing hides for production
• Working alongside experienced leather cutters
• Assisting with workshop production
• As the role develops:
• Operating a CNC cutting machine
• Preparing CAD files (DXF)
• Nesting patterns to reduce material waste

Essential qualities:

• Practical, hands-on mindset
• Good attention to detail
• Willingness to learn new skills

Desireable experience:

• CNC / laser cutting machines
• CAD software (Fusion 360, AutoCAD or similar)
• Workshop, manufacturing, or upholstery work

Training provided:

• Full training in leather cutting will be provided.
• You will also be involved in developing their new digital cutting process as the business grows.
