Alex Hawes, from Surrey, combines fashion, embroidery and costume making. She has a long-term vision to establish a unique costume house that foregrounds embellishment and embroidery, and will mentor future craftspeople. In 2026, Alex was awarded a training bursary to fund an intensive costume making course at the Manchester School of Costume. Alex’s bursary was funded by the Capri Holdings Corporate Foundation.
