About
Applying traditional skills to modern fibre, I use plants and minerals to hand-dye Tencel, a cellulose alternative to silk with a low environmental impact. My small-batch 'botaniq' 4-ply yarn is vibrant, soft, lustrous, strong, biodegradable and vegan, ideal for items such as shawls, collars, tassels and trimmings. I dye outdoors in summer with materials I grow, responsibly forage or buy from ethical suppliers. All waste materials are returned to my garden. In winter I skein the yarn, design crochet kits and patterns, and experiment with hyperbolic crochet to make intricate jewellery and accessories.
'botaniq' yarn is sold as 5 x 10g mini-skein bundles, 25g and 100g skeins
I welcome commissions for yarn and crochet pieces.
