Traditional woodworker and historian, left school age 14, trained as a Marquetry Cutter, researched traditional Chairmaking including the life and times of the Chair Bodgers.

Proficient at the Pole Lathe and other Woodturning. Lifetime researching, filming and photographing ancient crafts around the UK and Europe, developing my own skills, demos and lectures.

Many years antique restorer plus country and craft photo journalist writing for magazines. Many TV contributions since 1974.

Winston Churchill Traveling Fellow (1991). Freeman of The Worshipful Company of Turners (Gold Medal). Life member of The Society of Ornamental Turners.
