About
One of a kind, wearable art. My ‘paints’ are my handspun dyed and undyed rarebreed and British lambswool, silks and sustainable natural fibres. Wild Dartmoor colours, textures, landscapes, rivers and sunsets.
Slow fashion and contemporary artisan home textiles, entirely handmade with traditional spinning wheels, weaving looms and knitting needles. Handspun, handknitted sweaters and hats, handwoven scarves, throws, cushions and accessories.
Provenance is important to me. British, rarebreed lambswool and sustainable natural fibres are sourced as locally as possible. Washed, processed, carded, naturally dyed, blended and handspun in my Dartmoor studio. End of line lambswool from traditional British wool mills. No waste.
Britain's historical wealth, wool is warm, sustainable, fire-resistant, biodegradable, circular as replenishes the soil at the end of its life. Sixty four separate British wool breeds are perfect for fine knitwear, woven cloth, carpets, insulation or mulch. Synthetics are discarded into landfill and farmers cannot sell beautiful fleeces. A growing number of informed consumers, passionate conservation farmers and designer-makers value British wools.
Mainly self-taught, influenced by tutors UK and abroad. I owned a Gallery in Zambia.
