About
Although trained in fine arts context, my practice is rooted in craft - particularly slow, tactile processes tied to community life. I am a self-taught mender with extensive experience in Swiss and woven darning, skills I use in my repair work for The Seam. These hand skills have become a meaningful part of how I connect to material, labour, and sustainability when practicing craft.
I earned my BFA from NSCAD University (2016) and an MFA in Fibres at Concordia University in 2023. My work has been supported by residencies in Nova Scotia, Buckinghamshire, Iceland (with Mea Bissett), Portugal and Slovenia (with Justine Latour), and funded by Centre Rog, AA2A, ARTCH, Ada X, and CALQ. I’ve exhibited works at La Maison Pierre-Chartrand, Le Liveart, and 4th Space in Montreal.
Teaching and learning are central to my work, often taking the form of informal workshops, and facilitation in community craft spaces. I create participatory projects that invite the public to connect through traditional textile techniques and collective making. In 2022, I received the Elspeth McConnell Award to support a community mending workshop series co-led with Mea Bissett. My ongoing project Mending Circle is a participatory fibre installation which invites the public to learn darning techniques on a seven-foot circular knit frame. Having engaged over 200 participants through festivals and arts centres across Montreal and London, this work reflects my ongoing commitment to craft pedagogy and skill-sharing.
