Rachel specializes in using traditional stained glass techniques; was specialist glass painting tutor at the internationally renowned Swansea School of Glass for over a decade until 2019 and continues to deliver glass painting workshops as part of her creative practice. She is inspired by other three-dimensional applied arts such as carving, textiles and ceramics and their ability to embody the narrative of human experience in rich symbolic and decorative languages.

About
Rachel Phillips is a Pembrokeshire-based artist who has been practicing stained glass as an applied art in architecture for over twenty years. She has designed and made commissions for public and private buildings including World Heritage sites, most recently completing a contemporary glass scheme for a medieval church in collaboration with her creative partner Linda Norris (as Studio Melyn). Her work can be found everywhere from castles to wildlife reserves and she believes in the ability of glass to enrich any environment.
