About
I started bobbin lacemaking in the 1980s when I was living in Bedfordshire, a traditional lacemaking county in England.
I later moved to the South West of the country and learned Honiton Lacemaking from the great Pat Perryman.
I am a member of the Lace Guild.
After a pause of about 20 years while my children were growing up I finally took up my pillow again in 2025 to demonstrate a traditional skill at Stogursey Arts festival and was pleasantly surprised at the number of people who said they would like to give it a go.
In february I started a group in Stogursey (a small village in West Somerset) which currently has around 15 members.
I am delighted that there is an interest in keeping this endangered craft going and will endeavour to continue to be an ambassador for this fascinating craft.
