About

I’m Jo Munford, a stained-glass artist and teacher working from my studio in Netley, on the Hampshire coast. Through Seaview Studio I create one-of-a-kind glass pieces ranging from contemporary windows and panels to sculptural artworks and intricate decorative objects. Every piece is made by hand using traditional stained-glass techniques, re-imagined with a modern eye for colour, texture, and detail.

My creative journey began in textiles: I studied Textile Design at Derby University, graduating with First-Class Honours, before going on to work in the superyacht industry, specifying luxury interior furnishings. All giving me a deep appreciation of luxury craftsmanship and design detail, which continues to influence my approach to stained glass today.

The natural world and my coastal surroundings play a huge role in my creative inspiration as well as my training in 2D pattern design. I take pride in crafting every piece by hand, using both traditional and modern techniques to deliver work that is bespoke, enduring, and deeply personal to each client.

Alongside my own practice, I run workshops in copper foil and traditional lead work, as I am passionate about sharing the joy of this heritage craft with others.
