About
Jamie Lawrence is a sculptor and creative practioner working across community, craft, and digital practice. Based in South Wales, he works primarily with wood and stone using traditional carving techniques but is also practised in pewter casting. His practice is rooted in sustainability and draws from Welsh wildlife, architecture, and rural craft traditions.
A graduate of Cardiff Metropolitan University’s Artist Designer: Maker course, Jamie’s work is driven by a deep respect for material, process, and place.
Jamie offers traditional skills through school visits, community workshops, and one-to-one lovespoon carving sessions. He is currently developing work focused on medium- large scale wildlife carvings in wood and stone.
In 2025, Jamie was honoured to be a part of the Royal Society of British Artists exhibition, a milestone that reflects the growing recognition of his distinctive approach to creativity and sustainability.
