About

Jacqui Carey is renowned for her work as a braidmaker and for her analysis of historic textiles. She has carried out much research in museum collections and reconstructed examples using obsolete techniques, notably within the field of early English embroidery.

Jacqui has been a practicing craftsperson since completing her BA(Hons) degree in 1985, at West Surrey College of Art & Design. In 2005, she became a QEST scholar, and in 2008 was awarded an MA (distinction) in History of Textile & Dress from the Textile Conservation Centre, University of Southampton.

With a wealth of experince, she has enthusiastically shared her knowledge worldwide through her teaching and numerous publications.
