Dillon began his career in the hat trade in 1983 working for Mitzi Lorenz, learning the fundamental skills of traditional model millinery.
In 1984 Dillon started work in the model workroom as a junior milliner at Philip Somerville Ltd. It was here he gained further experience and refined his skills in traditional model millinery, by watching and assisting the senior milliners.

After the closure of Philip Somerville Ltd. in 2007, Dillon then started designing under his own name and created Dillon Wallwork Bespoke Hats in 2008. He works under the same ethos, and continues the traditional model millinery skills and techniques used throughout his career. Offering a personal bespoke millinery service to private clients.

He was a founder member of The British Hat Guild and member of their Heritage Committee.

Dillon is keen that these traditional millinery methods continue for future generations. He offers personal 1 - 2 - 1 tuition in his studio in south east London, also online via Zoom.
