About
I am a traditional parchment maker based in Norfolk, continuing a rare and endangered craft. I learned parchment making in Bergama, Turkiye. The place where parchment was first developed as an apprentice to one of the last masters of the tradition. I received my mastership there through a traditional ceremony.
Using historical techniques, I transform raw skins into parchment and explore its artistic potential by creating original drawings and sculptural parchment forms. Teaching this craft to others is my greatest purpose, helping to ensure that this ancient knowledge continues to live. My work brings together heritage craft and contemporary artistic expression.
