Claire Mc Dermott is a freelance artisan with experience in the restoration and maintenance of historic buildings and churches. Skills and knowledge cover paint damage to surfaces and ornamentation, including consolidations, paint scrapes and colour matching to the original scheme.

Specialist decoration includes fine art, painted marbling, woodgraining and signwriting together with knowledge of historic paints in oil/watercolour, gesso and egg tempera. Mc Dermott’s restoration woodworking skills include replacing damaged or missing wood carvings and plaster, together with contemporary interests in cold metal skills, soldering copper, clay modelling, mould making, putty composition, drawing and documentation photography.
