The most specialised areas of my creative practice relate to the creation of sculptures around a metal armature, which are bespoke and can be formed out of a clients ideas.

About
I am a willow weaving teacher and willow sculptor and basket maker. I make various types of baskets and am all the time looking to learn new skills. I teach these skills in monthly adult classes in Nuneaton, but also take my courses to clients.
I was a Primary teacher for 24 years before starting my willow business in 2014.
To make my sculptures bend and weld steel to create metal armatures , which are overlaid with a willow skin. I can do this by commission, but more commonly, I will make the armature and then work with a client to complete the piece. This is typically done in schools, but can be offered to other organisations or companies as well.
I also install living willow structures in the first couple of month's of the year and undertake to maintain and reshape existing structures. I have my own small willow bed where I grow some of the less available cultivated verities.
