About
Dr Cate Watkinson has over 30 years’ experience as an architectural glass artist.
She trained in the traditional skills of stained glass making. Over the years she has developed the expertise and knowledge gained to bring a fresh slant to her contemporary work. Projects range from a memorial stained glass window for the Cathedral Church of St Mary’s, Newcastle, to sculptural public art pieces.
‘Working with glass is my passion in all its forms. Light is paramount to how I work with glass. Either installed in an aperture of a building or wall mounted panels of low relief, I explore material qualities of glass through the presence or absence of light.’
