Zarka Iqbal

Administration Officer (Shaping a Resilient Future)

With a lifelong passion for art and creativity, Zarka has loved drawing from a young age and working with textiles alongside her seamstress mother. Having studied and worked in politics, and most recently, being a museum visitor host (the Royal Academy of Arts, National Maritime Museum and Fashion + Textile Museum), she is keen to blend her creative and political interests through this role at Heritage Crafts. Zarka is a keen traveller and loves learning about creative practices from around the world. Influenced by traditional artisanship from her own Pakistani heritage, she believes passionately in intercultural learning as a means to safeguard crafts in the UK.
