About
It's all about solution finding, really. From the "what can I do in my life ?" to "How can I properly assemble these two pieces of wood ?".
Hewing answers the "how can I have a very low ecological impact ?" and at least the esthetical and structural questions.
Timber framing is only the natural continuity of hewing. When I say framing, I mean the old way, where you loft your timber on a very accurate and sometimes complex real-scale drawing on the floor. I also mean scribing the joints with a plumbob, a level or a square based on a set of pinged chalk lines on your timber. Not to mention the carved symbols that identify each piece of wood.
And it goes on, up to the tiles. But I wont bother the rare reader that pops on this page any longer... ;-)
