Tracey Sheppard Glass Engraver
Specialising in drill engraving producing one off pieces to private commission. Areas of particular interest are architecture , botany and heraldry, and the design and execution of fine lettering. Tracey Sheppard also combines drill engraving with sandblasting and acid etching designing and making large scale architectural glass doors, windows and screens for churches, public buildings and private individuals.

Tracey took up glass engraving at evening classes in the 1980s and soon reached the pinnacle of her craft, receiving commissions from Historic Royal Palaces to present to Her Majesty the Queen, and to be part of the Downing Street Collection of engraved glass. She has worked tirelessly on behalf of the Guild of Glass Engravers and is now their President, alongside being Master of the Art Workers Guild.
About
A Fellow of the Guild of Glass Engravers, Past Master of the Art Workers' Guild and Heritage Crafts Maker of the Year 2021 Tracey Sheppard has been engraving glass since 1980. She has been commissioned by many national institutions including the BBC, the Civil Aviation Authority, the Royal Horticultural Society and Historic Royal Palaces as well as many private clients. She also works on large scale architectural glass designing and making doors, windows and screens. Examples of her work can be found in Winchester Cathedral, Bristol Cathedral, Portsmouth Cathedral, Romsey Abbey and numerous parish churches as well as in several hospices, schools and private residences.
The opportunity to pass on the skills that she has learnt is hugely important and she enjoys teaching at West Dean College, as well as in local Adult Education and, occasionally offers private Masterclasses. She has also delivered numerous lectures and workshops on behalf of the Guild of Glass Engravers.
Engraved Glass on a wide range of scale, from the smallest personal unique pieces to large expanses of architectural glass. Working with a drill and diamonds, stones and polishers to create a variety of textures and form.
