About
Living and working aboard a nomadic narrowboat, Laurence Knoop uses knotting and weaving techniques to create baskets from natural-fibre rope. Working primarily with flax rope, Laurence is inspired by the utilitarian every-day nature of rope, and the way in which it can be used to craft functional but attractive baskets. Laurence collaborates with a textile artist in the Peak District to add colour to his baskets using natural dyes.
