Brian Crossley
If you have a chair which requires re-caning, then I can tackle most items. As a second generation chair caner with over 40 years' personal experience, I have re-caned many variations of chair design and other furniture for clients and also undertaken new commissions using various chair caning techniques. My workshop is fully set up to handle any size of furniture and I carry a full range of cane widths. The range of chairs re-caned extends over all historical periods from the 17th to the 21st century ranging from simple bedroom chairs to three piece bergere suites including such items as bentwood chairs and other international designs. Caning patterns include the standard six way pattern, plus variations such as spider's web, rising sun etc, and designs from the USA. Various caning techniques are used as required, including blind caning and loom cane e.g. Habitat and IKEA chairs. If you wish to learn how to cane, then I run two day long workshops each month in Chester for up to ten students in each group
