The future of skills training for the heritage craft workforce

Have you ever considered taking on a craft apprentice with support from the Government’s apprenticeship scheme? Were you successful? If not, what prevented you from succeeding? Perhaps you encountered an obstacle right at the beginning that put you off? Or perhaps you got quite far down the path of taking someone on and fell at the final hurdle?

On Tuesday 25 February we are running a half-day partnership event with the Institute of Apprenticeships and Technical Education, looking at the issues around craft apprenticeships, why some apprenticeships have a low uptake, what could be done to improve them, and what small craft employers might do to make apprenticeships work better for them. We will also discuss the forthcoming introduction of Skills England and the broader vocational offering within which apprenticeships exist.

If you have a perspective to provide, or would just like to find out more, and you are able to join the free event in Central London (lunch provided), please email Daniel with a sentence explaining your interest. Places are limited.
