Owen Morse Brown – hat block maker

Winner of the 2015 HCA Maker of the Year

Owen took over his father’s hat block making business in 2008. He enjoys “learning and discovering traditional ways of working, with a heart to pass it on to future generations”.

Since taking over the business from his father, sales have more than doubled and the business is known for quality, craftsmanship and service.

Owen works very closely with milliners to help raise the profile of millinery, and he frequently runs demonstrations, talks and contributes to articles.
