Kate Barlow – embroiderer
24th March 2014 | ALUMNI | AWARD WINNERS
Winner of the 2014 HCA/NADFAS Heritage Crafts Bursary
Kate has a background in theatre costume and was taught hand embroidery by her grandmother.
She heard of the Future Tutors programme at the Royal School of Needlework, and gained one of only 3 places. The course covers many different elements to stitch work as well as conservation of textiles, and her work is simply stunning.
She is committed to the course, but it is not recognised for government support, despite the RSN being the very best in the world, so we are delighted to help with the funding.
